Lyon 3-1 Nancy 1


Goals from Bafetimbi Gomis, Lisandro Lopez and Michel Bastos gave Lyon the points against Nancy in their Ligue 1 clash.

Nancy had the game's first clear chance in the 16th minute, when Julien Féret's free-kick was blocked by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Two minutes later Lloris was busy again, saving Damian Macaluso's header from Feret's corner low down.

In the 20th minute Gomis struck a post - and he was in the action again in the 36th minute when he gave Lyon the lead.

Lisandro and Miralem Pjanic teamed up for Gomis to beat Gennaro Bracigliano with a well-struck shot.

Five minutes into the second half the home side were two goals ahead when Lisandro outpaced Macaluso and beat Bracigliano with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.

The visitors gave themselves hope in the 56th minute through Youssouf Hadji, who tapped in from close range after Lloris had blocked an effort from Macaluso.

On the hour Lloris deflected a left-foot shot from Florian Marange onto his post.

But the hosts restored their two-goal advantage with the game's final goal, midway through the second half.

Jean Makoun set up Bastos on the edge of the penalty area - and the Brazilian's powerful left-foot strike gave Bracigliano no chance.
